I became very familiar with the fundamental traits of Prader Willi Syndrome, Verbal Apraxia, Cerebral Palsy and Autism. I felt confident in delivering and following various ILP’s, as well as creating supportive environments so that these students could flourish. I also engaged vigorously with AusVELS but also ABLES when evaluating student academic performance.
In my own tertiary studies, I opted to conduct my own research into Autism Spectrum Disorders and compiled a Wikipedia page highlighting the importance of effective Classroom Management in a special needs classroom.
